1) Be sure you have confirmed your wedding date, seasonality affects flowers!
2) Ideally we want to have your venue confirmed, the setting can affect the floral design!
3) Select your color palette or close to it, colors affect floral selection!
4) Pull some inspo together, whether it's Pinterest or a simple pdf of floral ideas, what we do is SO visual!
5) Get that floral request list together, all the things you NEED plus a few dreamy WANTS!
6) Be ready to talk budget, even if you just have a ballpark range of what you "can" spend
7) Ask if they have a minimum - many of us have wedding minimums, especially due to the increase in costs and demands on the limited number of weekends in our books
8) Don't be shy to specify both what you LOVE and don't love AT ALL, we want to hear all your preferences
9) Embrace your designer's creativity and professional experience, after we're clear on what you like, let us infuse our creative ideas!
10) Have fun and keep editing! I love when the clients pull lots of images on their Pinterest board - it's such a great holding place for ideas and then I also ask them to edit it down so we can get to the essence of the design vision (Pro-Tip: you can do this in a separate board so you don't lose all the fun things you've pulled!)
